SRD?, 4 Layers in SF AI and epson 700 for slides

Postby keebler » Mon Apr 02, 2007 8:22 pm

Hi,

I'm scanning slides on my 700, but i must be doing something completely wrong b/c the slides look better using the epson software than with SF. i'm only on SE and seriously considering AI b/c i'd like to batch scan.

A few questions: does SRD?, 4 Layers mean that when i select the areas for ICE, that I will have more areas or layers to choose and within those layers, i can choose different levels of correction? ie. i often find that my correction settings shouldn't apply to all blemishes (ie. some are thicker than others etc..). if i can do this a number of times and have more control, I'd be happier :)

also, any real tips on scanning slides with the V700 along with SE (and AI if i dload that)? I can't find any definitive links. :(

Cheers,
keebler

Dear keebler,

you are right, the 4 layers in SRD allow to perform corrections using different parameters for each layer. You may also want to use a mask for a layer to restrict its correction to a certain area.

Best regards
Martin
