"Scanner failed to send image during scan"

Postby Ghiro » Fri Jan 23, 2004 9:17 am

During scan, i get the message "Scanner failed to send image during scan" and the scan is aborted.
Then I have to disconnect the scanner and then reconnect it and try to scan again (hoping that the same error doesn't occur again).

This error occurs with Epson TWAIN, Windows TWAIN and Silverfast software.

Dear Ghiro

please note that for USB 2.0 you would have to install specific drivers unless you have installed the "Service Pack 1" from Microsoft for Windows XP.
However, if you using Win XP with an nForce2 mainboard, you want to install the fix for that SP1 after installing it, because the USB 2.0 drivers included in that service pack don't work correctly with nForce2 mainboards.
Alternatively, for nForce2 mainboards you just install the USB 2.0 drivers that came with your mainboard package on a CD-ROM.

Paintshop Pro 8 does not adhere to the TWAIN standard in the same way as SilverFast TWAIN does. There can occur problems. We hope this will get better in the future.
However, as the Epson TWAIN software also doesn't recognize the scanner, this does not seem to be the source of trouble here.

Please make sure, your Epson scanner is shown as being fully functional in the device manager and in the control panel (under "scanners and cameras").
You want to download the latest SilverFast update (and I would advise you rather want the Photoshop Plugin/Stand-Alone version, because of better color management support).
You deinstall your old SilverFast version, reboot, install the new one.

Then you try again. If it doesn't work, please send the SF_Logfile to SilverFast support ( info@silverfast.com ).
Thanks in advance.
