DCPro doesn't keep correct EXIF info while converting CRWs+

Postby 1drey » Mon Nov 01, 2004 8:37 pm

I use PTLens tool to cerrect lens distortion - and I should say that PTLens does it just great. This PS plugin uses EXIF info to make necessary calculations - it needs focus distance, lens type, zoom setting etc.

When I conver RAW and CRW files from my Canon G5 and Nikon D70, everything works flawlessly... But when I try DCPro (as well as a couple of other converters) the resulting file just doesn't contain vitally important data about lens used, zoom setting etc. At least PTLens can't read this information.

It limits the usability of DCPro by the sceenes not requiring distortion-free images.

Can it be corrected?

Currently it is not possible to import the Exif information into Photoshop via a Photoshop Plug-in (in the way we use it). But the Exif information is saved in Tiff / Jpg file, if you saving then directly with DCPro.
It seems, that Photoshop cuts the edge of the pictures. This is not done by SilverFast DCpro. We try to show every part of the picture

kind regards

THank you for extra pixels, but please note that Nikon Capture produces the same size files as Photoshop plugin - 2000x3008.

Extra pixels brings me problems instead of the benefits: I can't use processed images in some of my workflows.
