D80 raw images purple

Postby mntbighker » Sun Jan 21, 2007 7:38 pm

The Nikon D80 is not yet supported with an optimized raw workflow. Does this explain why the initial conversion process in VLT of NEF images results in all images having a severe purple tint? The initial thumbnails all look normal, presumably because the thumbnail is an embedded JPG. As an Apple Aperture owner I am looking for a reason to include Silverfast in my workflow.

That is correct. If a camera has no internal profile in SilverFast, the images could have a tint or wrong color temperature after loading in.
We try to get profiles for all cameras, but we need to get hand on a camera of this model, to shot our profiling images.

kind regards,
