CanoScan FS2710 callibrationproblem

Hi.
When I try to callibrate my Canon FS2710 Scanner, I am experiencing
the following errors:
I position my IT8 image in the scanner, and places the grid according to the manual. The scan begins. Then Photoshop telles me: Could not complete the import command because of a problem with the acquisition module. In the Silverfast interface I am now told, Name of reference file succcessfully read. but now I can only click start or cancel. Ok is greyed out. I click start and after a scan I am told: No refference data available. Then Silverfast and Photoshop freezes.
I am running Photoshop CS
and Windows XP
Can anyone please telle me, what I am doing wrong?

please either contact support the usual way (via the problem report form at: http://www.silverfast.com/problemreport/en.html ) or upload a screenshot / scan of the target in question and the appropriate reference file you are using (if any).
