Hello,
For some reason, I cannot get my Canoscan 8800f to prescan negatives in transparency mode. SilverFast returns message "error" right after message "calibrating".
I'm using Windows 7 64bits with SilverFast 8.2.0r3. I've downloaded and installed the latest drivers from Canon website.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Problems with Canonscan 8800f
Dear customer,
The message refers to the scanner's internal sensor calibration.
During transparency scanning this occurs in a small area at the beginning of the scan plane.
It is located in the first 2-3 cm of the glass plane viewed from the hinges.
The film/slide holder has a cut out there.
Any disturbance in this area can cause such errors.
Make sure the area is absolutely free of any material.
Also make sure the lamp lights up correctly.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
