Hi all!!!
I'm using canoscan 9000f markii with silferfast ai 8
Then i scan pos/neg film appears streching of ir channel? i.e on left side of scan mask covers scratch & dust, at center mask shifting right about 1mm, on right side it shifts about 2mm.
Canon software scans fine, so i dont think its scanner hardware problem

Re: Infrared chanel shift
I too am seeing an IR offset with SilverFast SE Plus on Canon Canonscan 9000F MKII on negatives.
Have reported to to support, but disappointingly heard nothing. Such a shame as renders scanner and software no good.
This is what I am seeing an offset between scanned RGB and IR channels.

Re: Infrared chanel shift
Dear customer,
Please try adjusting the maximum offset for the iSRD alignment in the preferences' special tab.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Did that, adjusted maximum offset in iSRD settings and made no difference.
Currently open with SilverFast support.

Re: Infrared chanel shift
The problem is that offset correction doesn't help. I have been playing with raw files out of 9000f using SANE, and I have noticed that I need a full transformation, including a resize and a shift, to superpose the artifacts in the image and their IR record. Trying to get to a perfect superposition by only shifting is impossible, and that is why even setting the maximum value in SF settings is ultimately useless.

Re: Infrared chanel shift
That is correct the infrared and RGB images have different ratios and sizes. However that is already a part of SilverFasts adjustments.
The setting in SilverFast does take all that into account.
Have you also tried lower settings? That can avoid "false friends" detection.
Kind regards,
Arne
