"Our developers are trying to find a way to access your scanner in Windows7 64.
Unfortunately I can not guess if or when this will be possible.
Crossgrades from one scanner to another will have to be bought from our webshop."
Upon reviewing my Silverfast I find I have SE Plus Multi.
Please tell me if you all have any plans to support this scanner software combination. You say if I buy a compatable scanner you will sell me a crossgrade. I paid you $ 104.00 for what I have for my functioning scanner. You will sell me the same software for another for $ 88.00. Does that seem fair?

Dear Eddi,
no I was not ignoring you.
I was just waiting for more information on this subject.
Unfortunately there is still no suitable 9950F driver for Windows 7 64bit.
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Arne
Can you liaise with Canon on this. I too have a Canon 9950 I now can't use with Silverfast as I have upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit. There are a lot of similar comments on the board - I would have thought it would make financial sense for yourselves to get Canon to release a proper 64 bit for yourselves.
Regards
David

Re: Canon 9950F Windows 7 64 bit
Has any progress been made with Canon regarding the 9950f and a 64bit version of silverfast. This is a superior scanner to the Canon 9000F which was released in May this year. I, like others here are waiting patiently for an update to be released.
Can we please have a definitive answer as to whether this scanner will get a 64 bit version of Silverfast or not.

Re: Canon 9950F Windows 7 64 bit
I will check on this issue again.
Re: Canon 9950F Windows 7 64 bit
I would like to revisit the last posts of this thread. It is now December 2010 and there has been no sign of support for Windows 7 64-bit for the Canon 9950f. If there is no intention or probability that this scanner will ever be supported in this OS please just say so. I understand that your developers may be at the mercy of Canon. That does not change the fact that many of us, in good faith to both Canon and LaserSoft, have invested considerable sums of money in both the hardware and your software. I too had to change my OS. I have been unable to use your software for nearly two years now. I even paid to upgraded from 6.5 to 6.6 in the hope it might work, at least with some workarounds. Many of my projects have been on hold for a long time now waiting for a fix.
It is time for some definitive answer.
Will the Canon 9950F ever be supported under Windows 7 64-bit?
If it will not, and we are saddled with the expense of purchasing a new scanner or changing software companies, will a migration be provided at no charge for like software/version for a new supported scanner?
The options are now to either forget Silverfast altogether, or purchase a new scanner. I love my scanner, but am willing to change if Silverfast will support me in a change with a free migration. I realize that the problem is of no fault of Silverfast, neither is it my fault, but good customer support and more importantly Customer Retention should lead you to some comprimise on this issue. Do I want to continue to support a company that has no sympathy for our plight?
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
John

Re: Canon 9950F Windows 7 64 bit
The issues we are experiencing with the implementation of the 9950 for Windows 7 64 seem to be more severe than we already expected.
Currently it is unlikely (but still not impossible) we will be able to solve these with our current software structure.
As we are currently rewriting SilverFast completely it is more likely a solution can be found by reimplementing the scanner with the new software code.
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: Canon 9950F Windows 7 64 bit
Thank you for your prompt reply. This is encouraging news.
Is there a target or projection date when the new software might be available? At this point time has become a critical issue.
And as to the question posed in my previous post will there be any special offerings for migration to a different scanner with Win 7 64-bit support?
Thank you,
John Hughes

As has been posted many, many times over many, many months can you please provide a definitive answer as to whether there will be a 64 bit version of Silverfast for Windows, and if not will there be a special offer for migrating to another scanner with 64 bit support for Windows.

Re: Canon 9950F Windows 7 64 bit
Dear David,
It still is unlikely support for the 9950 will be possible due to the available drivers.
You can always crossgrade to another scanner using our webshop.
This will give you an additional license at a reduced price.
You enter your existing scanner as if you want to buy an upgrade, enter your serial number and then you will be able to select a target device for the crossgrade.
kind regards.
