Does anyone have any suggestions about speeding up the workflow using Silverfast SE 8 Plus and get good results? I am finding that in some circumstances the iSRD is not very effective, especially7 on Auto.
I have tried several options and timed them while running Word and Outlook. The results were not what I expected and a bit surprising. The fastest time is the first attempt at highest resolution and using iSRD on Auto. iSRD was only effective on the fifth batch which actually took the same time as when iSRD was set to the lowest possible value.
See below:
Batch DPI iSRD Settings No of Negs Total Time Time / Slide
1 4800 Auto 16 28 mins 1.75
2 4800 Correct = 1 16 65 mins 4.06
3 3200 Auto 13????? 41 mins 3.15
4 3200 Correct = 1 16 51 mins 3.19
5 4800 Correct = 20 16 65 mins 4.06

Re: Streamlining the Workflow
Dear Viking,
The speed of the processing depends on the resolution you choose and the available resources.
When other software is running it is difficult to tell how this influences the processing.
Some software for example caches some data to to hard drive after a while.
Other software on the other hand collects more data over time and requires more resources after some time running.
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
P.S.:
It's "Der Wikinger" by the way
