Slow operation in 5.5 upgrade

recently downloaded 5.5 upgrade for Nikon LS 4000.
Wonderful! Just one problem though:
The scanning process (same image, same settings) takes 20%-30% longer in 5.5 than it does in 5.
This time increase is across the board - positives, negatives, with or without dust and scratches filter etc.
Anybody got any suggestions?
I'm using Mac 9.2 by the way.

did you uninstall SilverFast completely BEFORE installing that 5.5 software?

Did all of that un-install stuff (including the Nikon software) and re-installed SF5.5 but it doesn't seem to have made any difference.
Well it's no big deal anyway, I'll just have to be a bit more patient!
