Slide scanning with 8200i

Postby jack1 » Fri Jan 09, 2015 7:45 pm

Scanning Kodachrome using 8200i, I find the darkest areas have so much noise and turn a greenish color. I try to remove it in LR 5 or in nik software define. I also try to remove color as well as luminance noise.
Any suggestions?
Jack

Dear Jack,

Which operating system are you using?
Please make sure that you are using the latest driver (if on Windows) and latest SilverFast update.

In case the cast is really in the image you can use the pipette tool to remove it.

The image auto adjustment also has a shadow cast option for such images.
(You can access the additional options by clicking and holding the Auto CCR button).

Are you using Multi-Exposure?
It will greatly reduce scanner noise.

Kind regrads,
Arne Ketelhohn.
