SilverFast v6.6 hangs when ejecting filmstrip

Postby restlest » Wed May 05, 2010 2:11 am

I'm trying out the demo version of SilverFast v6.6.1r7 on SnowLeopard with a Nikon Super CoolScan 4000ED.
Most everything seems to be working well, scanning, filmstrips, jobs, batch processing, etc..

But when I eject a filmstrip, SilverFast hangs and I have to force quit the application; obviously not a very productive way to work :(

Thanks in Advance,
Eric

Dear Eric,

Which filmholder are you using?

Please make sure your version of SilverFast is called SilverFast(NikonSF).

If it is called NikonM please remove SilverFast from your Mac and install the version you can download from our website's update button.

kind regards
Arne Ketelhohn.

Yes, thanks I am using the correct software.

What I've discovered is that after the filmstrip is ejected I see the spinning wheel and SilverFast is unresponsive, but if I put in another filmstrip SilverFast becomes responsive again. That's great. I can work on multiple filmstrips.

But at the end of the day, after the last strip is ejected, SilverFast is unresponsive and I have to force quit.
Unless there is some way to eject film from the Nikon after quitting out of SilverFast; from what I know it's entirely a software driven process?

Someone else said that after a few seconds the spinning wheel goes away for them and the program is responsive again.
This isn't my experience.

Thanks

The scanner also ejects the film automaically.
You can speed this up by switching it off and on again.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
