SF App very slow with slides

Hi,
I am using the demo version of SilverFast Ai v6.0.1r19 and SF App v1.1.2 with Windows 2000, Photoshop Elements and a Nikon Super Coolscan 4000 with MA20(S) slide adapter.

As part of my evaluation I have compared the times for scanning a slide using SilverFast as a Photoshop plug-in and through SF App.
SF App is incredibly slower.

A scan type of 42->24 bit or 48bit at 4000ppi both take 1 min 2 sec in Photoshop Elements, the equivalent through SF App take 8 min 20 sec and 14 min 15 sec!
Lowering the resolution to 2000ppi, the times stay the same for Photoshop Elements, but SF App reduces to 1 minute 23 sec and 2 min 26 sec.

For comparison, scanning a negative at 4000ppi takes 1 min 26 sec using SF App.

Does anybody have any idea what the problem is?

Might be the memory that is available for SF_App (not enough memory assigned).

The PC has 1GB of RAM, I have restarted the PC and run SF_App before running any other applications and it still took the same time.
