Using SF60 AI for my Nikon LS 4000, I have been unsuccessful in scanning color negatives using the HDR color mode. Despite the fact that I have selected "negative" under options, the scan that Silverfast produces remains a negative. I have also experienced this failure in SF 5.5.
Am I doing something wrong, or is the HDR color mode under Ai only available for color positives?
Thanks,

In HDR color mode the images is scanned as the scanner sees them. You will not be able to make any changes like color correction, histogram and gradation curves. A gamma might be applied to the image, if selected in the option dialog.
If you need to scan 48-bit data, please use 48-bit color mode instead. This mode delievers 48-bit images, but corrections are made and negatives are corrected to positives.
Eric.
