Scan randomly freezes up

Hi guys :-)

I have got an issue with my CanoScan 8800F and Silverfast SE 6.6. Sometimes during the scanning-progress the scanner randomly freezes up and produces a grey picture from that line on it's scanning in this very moment. This behaviour appears very often if using the scanner on my mac (10.4.), a bit less often but still present on the windows xp platform.

I am really confued, because this happens also using the build-in canon scanner driver :-( I am not sure weather this is a software problem or my scanner is corrupt.

to me it sounds as if the scanner might have a technical problem.
But to be sure please contact us through our supportassistant.
It will guide you through some standard error solving help and to a support form after those.
