Problems with negatives scanning.

Postby Eyal » Sat Jul 08, 2006 12:44 pm

Hello,

I am a new user of sf ai, with an Epson 4180 scanner. I am having some problems with negatives scanning. 6 x 7 (medium format).
1. Often the scanner does not scan all the negative and send to Photoshop an empty white document, in addition the scanner head does not go back and I have to turn the scanner off and then on again so the scanner head can move back to the starting point.
2. This is what happens in case the negative scan does work: After doing all the adjustments on the software preview screen the real scan looks totally different (much more darker and greener).
All of this does not happen when I scan medium format positive films (slides).

I tried to reinstall and to read all the information from www.computer-darkroom.com but the problem comes back.
Does any one know what is the matter?

Thanks,

Eyal.

make sure u have proper settings in cms dialog box, if u use it from photoshop, u have option to synchronize photoshop color management with silverfast.

cms found in options, and if u use windows it has "imc" name. whatch the movie or read the documantation about cms.

also, to scan when silverfast is a stand alone - via the sf launcher. but still configurate the cms. save the file on your hd and then upload it to photoshop - see if this helps.
