Problems Printing to PDF File from PrinTAO

Postby lefkousa » Wed Aug 02, 2006 4:17 pm

Hello -

I'm using the demo stand-aloneversion of PrinTAO 6.4.4r3d on Windows XP SP2. When printing contact sheets or layouts, I like to print high resolution PDF files that are color managed with my calibrated monitor's ICC profile. This allows me to use images with different embedded profiles on my system without first converting them each individually to the monitor profile.

I'm having the following problems that I can't resolve when printing to Adobe Acrobat to create a PDF file:

1. PrinTAO limits the choices in printer profiles to installed printer profiles. This excludes my custom screen profile, as well as Adobe RGB, sRGB etc. Is there a way to alter this policy?

2. I've tried turning off color management in PrinTAO and using the Adobe color management in the print engine. When I do that, I get a PDF file with no images at all. Just a blank white page. Is there a reason this is happening?

Any help is much appreciated.

Steve

Dear lefkousa

(1) Well, there's a reason for having printer profiles and monitor profiles.
However, if you'd edit your monitor profile with an editor to "be" a "printer" profile, you could use it - just don't ask mean if how your images will look... 8)

(2) Please tell us exactly how PrinTao and Photoshop are set up here:

to have us examined this issue.
