Problem with Silver fast SE 5.5 for umax astra 4500

Two days ago I bought umax 4500 & Silver fast SE 5.5. I scaned many prints and all was ok. Today I tried scan film with Silver fast and Transparency unit TPU 4500 and have a big problem. Silver fast very often write Error in Scan Start. Cannot start scanner It do it during scanning and during prescanning. What can I do? I use windows 2000 & Photoshop 5.5

Hm, that sounds like there is a communication problem. Did you check for newer SilverFast 5.5 software on our download site?
Is the behaviour any different with Umax original software?
What is the name (if applicable) of this transparency unit?

Do you provide an update for 5.5? I have exactly the same problem with winxp prof.
