Is it possible, using SE Plus Printer Calibration, to create a profile for colored paper?
When I tried to do so, I got this message: A pre-check of the measured color patches does not comply with the expected result.
Please place one or more blank sheets of the paper you used to print the target, on the flatbed behind the printer target to ensure an enlarged white background and retry.
I followed the instruction, but got the same message upon retry.
(I have successfully created a profile for white paper.)
I doubt it matters, but the printer I'm using is a Xerox Phaser 6280 (laser printer). My scanner is an EPSON Perfection 4990 Photo.
Thanks,
John

Re: Printer Profile for Colored Paper
Dear John,
That depends on how strongly the paper is coloured.
If it is a paper with a slight cast or hue it should be able to calibrate it.
However if it is a solid color it will alter the patches too much and probably not allow some coloures to appear at all.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: Printer Profile for Colored Paper
Thanks for the reply Arne. I suspected that was the case.
Do you have any suggestions on how I might get an approximation to a good ICC profile. The paper in question is "Exact Vellum Bristol Premium Cardstock" in various colors. My intent was to create an ICC profile for each color I'm using. For my purposes the color rendering on the paper does not need to be perfect, I was just hoping to get something closer to correct when printing on the colored paper.

Re: Printer Profile for Colored Paper
Dear John,
You could use the white variety of the paper to get a base profile.
Then use the Profile Editor to adjust that profile manually for the colored variants.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
