Hi, I've upgraded to SF Studio with IT8 scanner and printer calibration. I have calibrated the scanner and printed the IT8 targets. HOWEVER, when calibrating the printer, the wizard will not accept some media for measuring the target and creating the profile for that paper. A dialog box appears saying it was unable to read the target, and that the (red) lines around the scan should be manually adjusted and the target remeasured. No matter what I try ( including using either white or black backing behind the target ) the result is the same.
THIS ONLY HAPPENS WITH SOME PAPERS!.I can profile/calibrate with some,( eg.Ilford Premium Photo Satin and Canson Canvas ) but not with others, specifically Arches Natural Texture or Hahnemuhle Albrecht Durer.
O.K. so what is the problem, how do I rectify it or have I got a dud product?
Mike

Dear Mike,
indeed it is sometimes good to have a white material behind the printed target.
Which version of SilverFast do you use?
With which scanner and printer?
Best regards
Martin

Hi Martin,
I am using SF AI Studio with scanner and printer calibation. Scanner is an Epson V700 and printers are Epson Stylus Pro 7600 and Stylus Photo R310.
Further testing has found that I can read a test target on some papers using one media setting, but not the same paper using a different media setting: e.g. Arches Natural texture 240g will be recognised using Water Colour Radiant as the media setting but not with Double Weight Matte.

Dear Martin,
I experience the same problems when trying to profile my printer.
What can I do to solve this issue ?
Thanks !
Some info :

I Disabled the ICM in the printer driver and tried the white paper coverage tip from your website...
