Prescan screen too small to use and cannot enlarge

In Windows XP, SilverFast 6.5.5, I started SilverFast and the prescan window opened to a size of ½ inches by 1-1/2 inches and I cannot change its size regardless of any method that I try. I cannot drag the corner and the maximize square is gray.

I have opened and closed the application a number of times, but nothing changes, the prescan window is too small and I cannot change the window size.

Strangely, it worked yesterday, e.g.: the window was large enough to work with my prescan pictures.

What are my options?
