Obtaining Color in negative scans

I have just begun to use an Epson 2450 with SilverFast SE. Once the prescan image appeared in color. Subsequently, the image is in grayscale, despite a selection of film etc that designates color. The button shows RGB Scan, but the scan seems to be in a blue monochrome. (The pre scan is in gray monochrome). This is extremely frustrating but I can find no basis to find a solution.

Dear James,
something went wrong with your installation. Please uninstall SilverFast completely (see FAQs) and then install the SE software again.
