novice help with cursor(marquee)

THough I've used Silverfast before, it's been a while. I'm using Ai 6.6 with an Epson 3200. When I prescan and the image opens up, I can't seem to get the cursor to activate the edges to drag the sides to fit the photo. ItThe cursor is just a hand, and then when over the edge it's black arrow, but won't grab the edge so I can move it. What am I doing wrong?

Dear customer,

when dragging the scanframe's border the cursor shouls be displayed as an double headed arrow.
Make sure you have no other tool active, like the Midgrey pipette.
