Negs in trans mode scan a black scrn

Postby popie » Tue Jul 04, 2006 3:42 am

Epson v700 & SE 6.4.4r3b
Scanning in neg mode gives me a blck scan with a little color noise. No image at all, not even an outline of the film.
Also the options for negafix, there are no film types to select from or asa. the only option is other.

No the reflective cover is not in the scanner, the head is plugged in and looks like it's scanning. usb connection & transparency's scan fine.
Mac osx.4.7 on a G5

Scans of negs also work in the epson software without a problem!

Dear popie

if
Also the options for negafix, there are no film types to select from or asa. the only option is other.

happens,

Scanning in neg mode gives me a blck scan with a little color noise. No image at all, not even an outline of the film.

is a likely outcome.

To force SilverFast to read again the Negafix info from the plugin, please
delete the LaserSoft Imaging folder (while SF isn't running) and check whether this does improve the situation.

On a typical Windows XP installation, the SilverFast "Prefs" folder is to be found at:
C:\Documents and Settings\(your username)\Application Data\

On a typical Mac OS X installation, the SilverFast "Prefs" folder is to be found at:
/User/(your username)/Library/Preferences/

Dear popie

yes, like I did write above
please delete the LaserSoft Imaging folder

The folder is labelled LaserSoft Imaging, because that's the name of the company that produces the SilverFast software.
