Hi All,
I have the SE Plus version 6.6 installed and am working with positive film in an Epson V700. When I scan with and without the multiexposure feature, I am unable to discern any difference in the dark areas of the scans. Is there anything I should be checking?
Thanks in advance.
Evan

Re: Multiexposure not working
I have taken a closer look at your picture and I can see more details in the MultiExposure scan.
Especially at the Door? and left to the pole.
Please remember, even MultiExposure can not make any Data visible that is not there to begin with.
Scannerhardware also has certain limits even our software can not compensate.
But there are clearly enhancements visible when looking closely at the image.
Also the noise is completely gone.
kind regards

I guess I need glasses, then.
But there clearly is more detail to pick up, since the aaco set on medium shows it.

Re: Multiexposure not working
Yes and I get the same image information if I put more light and contrast into the first image you postet.
I do not quite understand your problem.
There is mor image information in the dark areas.
You can make it visible by adapting the contrast, but SilverFast will only do this if you tell it to.
It is not supposed to changing contrast unless you activate an appropriate option.

Re: Multiexposure not working
Perhaps the information that Evan was missing was that the multiexposure option does not change the overall exposure for the image, but through a combination of taking advantage of the 2 sample passes, reduces the random noise from the hardware and by taking two different scans adds in extra data values at each end of the histogram and averages the mid tone values. This is not clear from the explanations on the web site.
