Hi,
my results are extrem light (nearly white) by using Multi-Exposure. All is ok if I using normal scans or multi-scans.
Environment:
- Silverfast V3.5.5r3 (first Silverfast installation on a new system)
- Reflecta Proscan 4000
- Negafix with own curve
- 48bit RGB scan
Thanks for help
Thomas

Same problem
Hi,
I would say this is the same problem http://www.silverfast.com/forum/multi-exposure-not-w-t5069.html.
At negative-scans it's very light and at positive scans it's to dark.
And of cause I use version 6.5.5r3 (not 3.5.5).

Multiexposure Problem
I too have a similar problem with my Nikon 5000ED. The scans have a black bar in them and turn out very light. I contacted support and was told that they could not duplicate the problem on their Nikon scanner. The technician suggested that there might be something wrong with my scanner. I contacted Nikon support and after reinstalling the driver and the Nikon software and going through a series of self tests, he concluded that there was nothing wrong with the scanner. The scanner works fine with the Nikon software and with the multiscan feature of SilverFast.

multiscan is x passes at the same exposure value and focus. MultiExposure is two different durations of the LEDs ON ( analog gain in the NS terms) in the Nikon case, with possibly a different autofocus point as a result ( contrast edge based on Nikon) .
If i remember correctly, the Nikon has the possibility of high precision preview (increases the # of pixels used for evaluation) . If so try it with that on - it could affect the pixels used for calculating the two exposures with the ME option and give a different result.
One could also try ME without ICE on and with manual focus and see if the same issue is up that occurred with the Minolta Scanner.

I tried scanning with ICE off. Now the scans are no longer light but the black bars are still there. The scanner cuts off the beginning of the frame. I turned ICE back on and while the lightness is still gone, the black bar remains. I increased the preview setting to 2X and later to 3X with no effect on the outcome. The multicans are still fine with no black bars.
I tried using manual focus but the program crashed.
Thanks for your help.

One last suggestion. Try NikonScan manual focus - if you get the same crash, something is corrupted either in the twain interface files or in the NS dlls. If there is no crash, the the problem is in SF and time to file a bug report if you haven't already.
Have you already tried the "deleting the prefs files" routine and rebooting ?
BTW, which OS and version of PS are you using ?
