Lamp control in Epson perfection V200 / GT-F670

Hi: I´m interested in silverfast ai studio, now i´m using the trial version to see how it works (6.6.0r3a).
I have an epson perfection v200. I know that the lamp control in the tab special in options is only available in scanners with hardware support to control exposure(i mean,not changing the curves). But in one hand i have the posibility to use multi-exposure(which obviously need hardware support of exposure control), and in the other hand i don´t have the lamp control in special options. This is a bit contradictory, if silverfast has hardware exposure control of the v200 to use with multi-exposure it must have the posibility to control the exposure with lamp control.
I´m trying another well known scanner program and it has the posibility to control the RGB exposure, which control the exposure time of the scanner CCD of the v200. So the epson perfection has the ability to control a "general" exposure, and not to control separately R, G and B exposure.
I think that silverfast is better in many other aspects like the other program, but if it don´t control any aspects of my hardware is in some manner usless.
If i´m right, there will be an update to fully support the v200?

Dear lanosalf,

there is no interface for the Epson exposure hardware.
For MultiExposure we use a special implementation only suitable for this task.
Unfortunately this way is not usable for a manually adjusted exposure.
Other scanner programs probably use the gradiation curves for Brightness controll.
A direct manipulation of the exposure of Epson scanners is only possible for a few special exposure values.

The other scanner program in cuestion, which i think is not properly to mention here, control via hardware the exposure time of the CCD,(not changing the gradation curves), this is verified because the scan process takes long if you increase the exposure time, and less if you decrease the exposure time. So, if this feature to control the exposure manually via hardware is not possible in Epson scanners, this software from another vendor is deliberately making a fraud, because in it´s manual is written that this is directly controling the exposure time of the CCD and indeed this is causing changes in the scan process time.
So I don´t want to argue with you here if some feature is hardware support in the V200 Epson scanner or not. Although this feature is clearly supported like is demostrated in this other well known scanner software. My only question is this, Is this feature(hardware exposure control), will be supported in the future in silverfast?

I have a question:

Are this few special hardware exposure values automatically selected for proper exposure when i scan negatives?
Or they are only used for multi-exposure function, and the exposure is always fixed for all the negatives when i scan them in job manager?
In conclusion, Is silverfast controlling automaticaly the hardware exposure independently for each frame? In particular when i use job manager for batch scanning?

The problem is that "another well known scan software" uses custom written drivers which are not supported by Epson.
If you will study this softwares website you will find that the author takes no guarantee his driver won't damage your hardware.
The official Epson drivers we use are issued by the manufacturer and can be updated if new features or bugfixes are implemented.
They also only offer settings the manufacturer deems save.
Officially Epson scanners can not influence their scan speed/exposure except for some fixed values.
