Kodachrome vs positive, no difference.

Postby framer » Sun Jul 08, 2018 4:43 pm

I have just upgraded to Silverfast 8 SE plus with the understanding that it provides an option for Kodachrome. This is my first time scanning Kodachrome and as far as I can see, there is no difference what so ever between the kodachrome option and positive option when scanning. I'm obviously doing something wrong but can't see what or where I'm missing something. I've have used Silverfast for scanning negatives for a while with no issues.

Dear user,

The Kodachrome mode is using different settings and a dedicated profile. However, there are several Kodachrome emulsions and also changes due to aging. So even with the dedicated profile you still have to use the Auto CCR and might have to use the Neutral Pipette to compensate for color casts.

Kind regards
Arne
