it8 calibration

Hi,
I recently bought a Reflecta RPS 7200 film scanner with silverfast Ai studio 6.6 and a Fuji target. After installation, I successfully made an it8 callibration using the target. However, since, I am not able to make a new callibration. After the prescan, the buttons "Start" and "OK" are always inactive and I cannot click on them. I can only click on "Cancel". So I have two questions :
1- Should I calibrate my scanner each time I am using it ?
2- How to re-calibrate the scanner ? (e.g. if I do not use it for a long time, or to correct the effects of wear and tear on the scanner light)

Dear Sébastien,

In case the automatic IT8 calibration has an issue you can always switch to manual.
Just deactivate the "Auto IT8" setting in the options' Auto tab.

The calibration should be done every 1-3 months or if the external temperature/humidity changes.
For example if the scanner is moved from a cool spot to a warm room.
