IT8 calibration

Postby dave66 » Tue Mar 04, 2003 12:05 am

Hi All:

I'm using SF6 with a polaroid SS4000+....I have never had any luck with IT8 calibration....I've gone through Ian's tutorials, done multiple calibration cycles, and it never seems to get any better and always seems WAY off. My system is well calibrated with photocal and a puck......

The IT8 target that was included with SF is dated 10/2001, with a data file # E011023.....is it possible that this was just a bad run of targets?I just can't imagine that SF can't get me closer to actual...Even polacolor software without calibration gets me better scans..

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

thanks

You can try using a copy of lcms utilities to analyse the target scan versus the reference file assuming it is a straight Q60 type target.
The web site is :
http://www.littlecms.com/downloads.htm
It may shed some light on what is happening.
