Just installed the SE version on Power Mac G4 400 sys. 9.1, Photoshop 5.5 and the buttons that worked on the demo are blank. These are the buttons on the scan pilot and at top of the frame window. All buttons function but the button is blank! Any thoughts? Thanks!

Dear anonymous,
are you saying that you donwloaded SilverFast SE Demo, worked with it, then purchased it online, received a serialization no. and did you then downloaded SilverFast SE again?
If so, you may have two identical installation on your system, which might be the reason for that GUI update error.

These are the buttons on the scan pilot and at top of the frame window. All buttons function but the button is blank! Any thoughts?
I suggest you delete all SilverFast prefrences, and if you find more than one SilverFast installations, delete all and reinstall only one.
Here are the possible installation paths:
SilverFast as Photoshop plug-in installs in
(PC and Mac) ...Adobe / Photoshop / Plugins / Import-Export /
on PCs sometimes also directly under ...Plugins

SilverFast as TWAIN Plug-in installs in
(PC) drive / windows resp. winNT / TWAIN_32 / LaserSoft /
(Mac) drive / System folder/ Preferences / TWAIN /
Please verify this path.

I downloaded the full version demo plug-in only. Tested then bought the SE version online and downloaded that. Before installing SE, pulled the Full demo version folder out of PS plugin folder and trashed. Installed the SE and no buttons. Restarted with no extensions --same story. Trashed prefs in Silverfast folder ...same story. Everything works just no buttons. Please Help!

...sorry, it has been quite a while since the initial question had been posted. But just in case somebody else has this problem:

It could be caused by a conflict with another plugin, specifically a Kodak Photo-CD plugin which is part of the Photoshop installation. Please look in your Photoshop plugin-folder and delete this plugin. After restarting Photoshop, SilverFast will appear with all icons....
