Try as I might, I can't seem to set the image output size to match the original size. Generally, I want to scale images at 100% regardless of resolution. Whether I use the silding bar or type in 100%, the Silver Fast software seems to have a mind of its own and my images come out distorted. I just want my original size to match my output size when the scaling to be set at 100% Is there something that I am doing wrong? The documentation says that I can adjust, but I cannot.

You may have the proportion lock turned off, which allows you to enter separate values for Horizontal scale and Vertical scale. The proportion lock appears like a little lock between the two scale numbers. Just make sure the little line connecting the two isn't broken. If it is, just click it to reattach and allow proportional scaling again.

If both numbers read 100% and you scan, the ouputted image should be physically proportional to the orinigal. It may appear larger on screen, especially if you have high dpi set during scan. If the image does physically appear distorted, your best bet is trashing the prefs:

First quit Photoshop.

Go to the Photoshop->plugins->import-export directory. Enter the SilverFast directory and trash the Prefs and Previews folders.

Now re-launch Photoshop and SilverFast, and you should be in business.
