How to Calibrate Plustek 7500i Scanner with Silverfast 8 SE

Hi,

I have just upgraded to Silverfast 8 SE, with the Plustek 7500i Scanner.
For the life of me, I can't find the button, or menu that allows me to calibrate the calibration slide??

I know I did it with the old version. (Ai Studio)

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The scanner has been moved interstate, was in a very hot room, and I think it could be a good idea to run the calibration.

Dear Kris,

The IT8 calibration is only included in SilverFast Ai Studio.
The SE version does not have that feature.

Actually I had purchased the Ai software with my Plustek Scanner 7500i. I thought I could upgrade to V8 for free, but the website said I couldn't.
Why not? I then purchased an upgrade but it must have only been for SE.

Is there any way around this? I saw that some users who purchased in 2012 we able to get free upgrade. Can you offer me this?
I'm just using the scanner for personal use and can't afford a giant upgrade fee for something I only use once a year.

Also the ability to calibrate the scanner, is a basic requirement for setting up. This should be available in every version surely?

Dear Kristine,

The free upgrade is only available for three month after purchase.

The scanner can be used without a calibration.
It comes with a generic color profile.
The IT8 calibration creates an individual profile, which is an advanced feature for professional users.

How do you use the general profile?

The general profile is automatically in use.
You do not have to activate that yourself.
