Dust & Scratch Prescan Problem

I have upgraded to 6.5 and when I try to to the 'Prescan' on the Dust & Scratch Removal, I get the (Not Responding) message and have to do Ctrl-Alt-Delete. I have a Plustek 7200 scanner with the latest driver. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
