Dropped Frames in SE Plus Vers 8

I'm scanning 35mm negatives using a 24 frame holder with an Epson 700. For the last 6-7 batches it seems to only scan 23 out of the 24 frames. Sometimes the missing frame is in a middle row, sometimes it's the 24th. The frames are numbered 1-23. When I move the 'Red" selector or frame to the holdout, it leaves another frame beind. How do I add the missing frame? How do I deselect frames?

In case the fram finding can not locate a certain image you can copy a frame by holding the alt key and clicking into an empty area.
