Color management does not work after update

Postby uthi » Mon Jan 17, 2005 11:41 pm

Hi,

since the software supplied together with my Scanner Epson F-3200 (6.2.2r4, Windows XP) continued crashing with a chance of 70% at each scan, I updated to 6.4.0r9 and later to 6.4.1r1.

In both versions the colormanagement does not work anymore as used with the 6.2.2r4: either the colors are completely shifted to green and somehow mixed up on the screen of silverfast (red=green, green=pink, grey=grey) as long as I use the CMS configuration that worked in 6.2.2r4; or the colors in Photoshop are mixed up the same way, when I switch CMS off in Silverfast completely.

I redid the IT8 procedure, I changed all settings of the CMS tab systematically -- no solution. So I rolled back to 6.2.2r4: Now colors are perfect again.

- What are the changes in software between the two versions?
- What are your recommendations for the settings to get matching colors again WITH the update versions?

Greetings,

Uthi

Hello,

The problem is related to the 16bit scanning (used by CMS too). The red and green channels are flipped.
This is now fixed. There will be a verion 6.4.1r1a, which includes this bugfix.

The problem is only related to the Epson F3200.

kind regards,

Thank you very much for this valuable information!! To bad, that the e-mail support didn't have this information available.
