I use a canon 8600F. I was using scan gear and producing 16 bit colour scans from negs.
I found I prefered the silverfast programme and some of its options. However, I can't scan a neg and produce anything other than an 8bit file.
(I directly open the files as PSD in CS3.
How do you produce a 16 bit file in Silverfast SE?
Thanks
Can Silverfast SE produce 16bit colour neg scans.

Dear Sammule
with SilverFast SE you "only" can produce raw scans with help of the "48 bit HDR color" scan mode. These are intended for further use with SilverFast HDR, so no image optimisation can be down while scanning.
To at least apply the gamma gradation value to such scans, check the "for HDR output" option behind the gamma value setting on the "General" tab of the "Options" dialogue window.
