SilverFast SE 8 Quit & will not restart

While processing a second batch of images after having just purchased this software the app quit and will not restart. Processing these images is a mater of some urgency...very frustrating! A solution would be greatly appreciated.

Dear user,

Maybe the crash has damaged the settings files.
Try resetting SilverFast through the welcome screen's service dialog.

Beyond resetting the software, are there any other ideas?

Mine just started quitting consistently after installing an update - I tried to uninstall and then reinstall the program but it doesn't seem to work?

I'm using OSX 10.10.5.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
