really miss the direct links to other parts of the web site

i really miss the direct links that were in the header of the old forum. i use the forum index page as the entry to the site, so obviously the current setup is much less convenient and quick. Please consider some further improvements to the new design.
The new design is cleaner for the forums, btw.
