Oh my goodness. Somebody went to a lot of work to make the download/update area of this site harder to use for this old time Silverfast user.

I have three versions of Silverfast and used to be able to go to one page to check for and download updates... Now I have to manuver through about 12 pages just to see if my 3 Silverfasts are current.

Yipes!!!

Junebug,

you missed the intermediate version that was available last week. It was, in my opnion, VERY GOOD. This latest version is a backward step, but is only a few days old and probably still not the final version, at least I hope not

This new system/look has an advantage that all SF types for particular scanner are available in one place together with some other related downloads (it is DB driven). Of course there will be an option to customize some preferences. Junebug's case which is not uncommon will be solved with an option to get alerts about specific Ai updates.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Ideally, the upcoming alert system would be in the form of an email that describes what's new and contains a link to the download.

Also... I'm still wishing very hard for an installer (Macintosh) that does not overwrite/trash my preferences and custom settings.

gotta go doorell.
