Gregory,
we are not aware of any slowdowns that may have occured recently, and I have tested our site on modem line for speed (it was normal though). It is not a wonder that long distance connections are being slower, especially whan a modem is involved. However to prove anything, a test must be performed. When (if) you experience anything similar, please make a traceroute (e.g. from http://www.traceroute.org, but better from your line) to www.silvefast.com and then also to some hosts lying topologically near our server, e.g. http://www.t-online.de. Without such data it is difficult to guess what went wrong, since there may be many connections in between and the whole line is as fast as the slowest link.
