Workflow for Nikon 9000

I've got a NIkon 9000 and I'm interested in upgrading to version 8. I've downloaded the trial version and read the ADF/Batch scan info, and I still can't figure out the steps to successfully scan 5 slides in a row. It always seems to want to only scan 1 slide and then stop. On the scan menu, do I set it to batch scan or ADF? If someone could give a step by step list it would be appreciated.

Dear mcpix,

first make an overview scan with the "Overview" button.
Then mark the images that you want to scan, and then make an ADF scan.
All the marked images will be scanned now.
