When I pre-scan the photo image looks a little lighter than the actual photo (seems to make sense since less information I am guessing), but when I scan the image (and save) and it opens in Preview (I am using a Mac, OS 10.5) it appears as darker than the original photo. I am guessing I need to tweak the histogram somehow or maybe change a color profile (or densitometer?) but I don't even know where to begin. Have spent a lot of time trying to search online and in this board, but no luck (I guess I was hoping for a "Silverfast for dummies" website that would explain the very basics, but nothing quite covers my simple startup questions).
In Options I have under CMS [I am guessing this may be where the issue is]
Color Management: chose (going down) ColorSync/ColorSync/RGB
Profile for ColorSync: so for scanner reflective our options are VideoHD.icc, VideoNTSC.icc, VideoPAL.icc [it seems we have to select one of these since we have chosen Reflective in the main General page] / <NONE> [since not transparency] / AppleRGB.icc /<NONE> /<NONE>/perceptual
then at bottom did embed Apple profile and chose AppleRGB.icc
My brain hurts...
Any help to point me in the right direction would be great - thanks much.
