Which mad mini will be best?
I currently use a win 7/64bit 3.3 Ghz 3 core (AMD) with 8gigs of Ram, but SF8 is slow and tech support has no answers it is sharing, my alternative is to move to Mac. There are two versions of the mac mini, I5 and I7, so I am asking is one superior. I will add memory as needed. I currently use a Plustek i8200 film scanner and plan to add an Epson 700 or 750.

Dear customer,
So far we have not made any explicit speed tests using i5 and i7 systems.
I suggest you take a look at general speed tests on the Internet and decide if the speed gain is worth the higher price.
A large and fast RAM is of cause one of the main factors in fast image processing.
SilverFast currently uses up to 8GB RAM.
How much you will need to install depends on what other software you also want to use.
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
