I have found three strange, empty folders in my MacOs 10.5.2 (UK English) user preferences folder. Their names are:
µz!†∞òøˇÃ·P迃døˇÃ·Â¿D@B迃‹
ïʰ†∞òøˇÃ·P迃døˇÃ·Â¿D@B迃‹
ïÕ±†∞òøˇÃƒ`迃døˇÃƒâ€“D@B迃‹
They were apparently created a week ago at about the same time that I installed Silverfast Ai for my Epson scanner so I'm hoping that someone will kindly confirm this - and also confirm that I can trash them. TIA.

Weird Mac preferences folders

Dear SimonChapman
if you're sure that these files have been created by SilverFast, please note that SilverFast preferences (which do reside in a given user's Library/Preferences folder, usually in a subfolder named "LaserSoft Imaging") can safely be deleted while SilverFast isn't running.
However, I also advise you might want to repair file permissions on that folder.
