v6.6.0r4 and ICE

Postby agteigarnet » Fri Dec 19, 2008 1:31 am

I have v6.6.0r4 and Nikon coolscan 5000.
I cannot get ICE to work, but in NikonScan it workes perfectly.
Is there a problem with this version ?
How can I get the ICE to work ?

Dear Agust,

it depends if you use a Mac or a Windows machine.
On the Mac we now communicate native with this scanner since SilverFast 6.6 so we use our iSRD here which has some advantages over ICE.
The PC version uses the Nikon library and therefore here you can use ICE. Both ICE and iSRD are turned on by clicking on the button with the corresponding logo on it. Please note that you can setup iSRD for your needs when clicking on the button underneath the iSRD button, when not setting up anyrhing here and you just enable iSRD you should have ICE like behavior.

I am using windows XP.
It does not matter how the ICE settings are in Silverfast ICE off, ICE Standard or ICE Fine.
THe check mark is there, but it does not remove the dust.
So from my point it seems to be error (hopfully user error, but checkmarks in the ICE settings lead to software error).
But ICE in NikonScan does remove the dust on the same slide very well.

Dear AG,

I just tested ICE with Nikon Scan and SilverFast on a Windows Machine with the "Normal" setting and the level of dust and scratch removal is actually the same.
So I would suggest you contact our support to get assistance as this seems to be a problem specific to your setup.
