TWO VERSIONS WON'T OPEN AT SAME TIME

I am on a Mac Pro Early 2008 running Yosemite.

I have silverfast for Nikon 8000 and Epson Perfection.

I used to be able to open software for both and use simultaneously.before upgrading from Mavericks, but now when I open the one for the Nikon I cannot open the Epson version.

Can anyone please give me some pointers?

Make sure you have installed the latest update for both scanners.
