Twain Fonction exposition

Using a home program for batching twain driver based scanings, we discovered that almost no twain function is available for automatisation, is this correct? (at least, the twain discovery function returns almost nothing...)
sad, as we love the quality of the program, but need that automatisation (connection to database for expected tasks, remote based file naming etc)
