Troubling Phenomena... Clone work not saved

I'm seeing a bad phenomena using 6.4.2r9 of DC Pro Studio. After doing some fixing including some cloning.... I process the image and save it.

Later opening this image in photoshop I see the cloning has disappeared.
Reopen in DcPRO and the cloning is back.

I also notice on close inspection that in the light table preview, not thumbnail, the cloning is absent but when opened into main window its there again.

Opening in photoshop or other tools like acdSee and the cloning is gone.
What is happing here? I can't redo the cloning in DCpro since it appears already done, yet in any other app its absent... what gives?

It seems as if the processing didn't `stick'.

Adding to this, I've now recloned the image in photoshop and saved. No change in image format. However now DCpro will not display this image at all. It appears in the light table but when double clicked the main window opens and is just blank.
