Transmissive IT8 targets query

Postby Serevinus » Tue Jul 03, 2007 6:51 pm

I am upgrading from AI Studio IT8 6.4.4r2 to the latest version, and since I will be scanning a large number of slides in the next couple of weeks, I was considering getting a transmissive target, but it seems there are 3 and I am unsure which to get.

Calibration targets only, no software
35mm transparency, Kodak, Price: EUR incl. 19% EU VAT 59.5
35mm transparency, FUJI, Price: EUR incl. 19% EU VAT 130.9
Individually measured targets
35mm transparency, Kodak, Price: EUR incl. 19% EU VAT 273.7

What does it mean by "no software" and "Individually measured", I want to be sure I get the right target as the difference in price is rather significant

My scanner is an Epson Perfection 4990 Photo if it makes any difference

Thanks

THe individually measured target is hand measured for the color values that are in the reference file. It will be slightly more accurate than the "average" values that are used for the production run.

The fuji target is for a slightly different film type than the typical kodak E6 and may be worthwhile if you are shooting that film.
